Course Summary:
This course will provide knowledge of the basics of plotting on a paper chart, utilizing nautical publications, reading charts, identifying aids to navigation and using them to find your way on the water. Other topics include: fixing your position with visual and radar information, running fixes, course and speed made good and tide calculations. This course is designed to prepare you with the knowledge needed for navigation on the water as well as preparation for the Navigation Problems: Chart Plotting examination required for testing at the regional exam centers.
