This course is principally intended for candidates for certification as Officer In Charge of a Navigational Watch. Those wishing to enter this course should be following an approved program of shipboard training. In most cases, the students for each course will normally have backgrounds that meet or exceed the ideal entry standard requirements stated above. Students must also be able to read, write, and speak the English language as wells as perform basic math functions. Students must meet the citizenship requirements listed in 46 CFR 10.221.
Any student successfully completing this course will satisfy the Cargo Handling and Stowage training requirements of 46 CFR to include:
70% passing score is required on the written examination.
