This course provides classroom training in basic sailing terminology, techniques, and safety to meet the training requirements for issuance of an Auxiliary Sail endorsement to a US Coast Guard License.

Prerequisites:
For a sailing endorsement you will need to meet one of the following:
- Near Coastal endorsements require 360 days on sail or auxiliary sail vessels.
- Inland endorsements require 180 days on sail or auxiliary sail vessels.
Course Details:
This course provides classroom training in basic sailing terminology, techniques, and safety to meet the training requirements for issuance of an Auxiliary Sail endorsement to a US Coast Guard License. The course satisfies the requirements of 46 CFR 11.401(d) adding Auxillary Sail to any national deck officer endorsement authorized by regulation.

Examination:
The student will be administered a 10 question multiple-choice examination with a minimum score of 70% required.
