Course Details:

This classroom course is intended for mariners seeking re-certification as a Tankerman Person-In Charge (PIC) Barge Dangerous Liquids (DL). Mariners attending this course should posses a valid Merchant Marine Document with a Tankerman endorsement. The objective of this course is to meet the requirements of 33 CFR and 46 CFR regarding qualifications for Tankerman, and for PIC in charge of transfer of dangerous liquids as stated in the US Coast Guard final rule [CGD 79-116]. This rule, which became effective on 31 March 1996 and was made final on 1 July 1998, sets forth training requirements for Tankerman and PIC of transfers of dangerous liquids.
