These courses are intended for mariners seeking US Coast Guard endorsements as a Qualified Member of the Engine Department (QMED) with various rating endorsements from the following:

• Oiler
• Refrigerating Engineer
• Deck Engineer
• Fireman/Watertender
• Junior Engineer
• Electrician
• Machinist
• Pumpman
• Deck Engine Mechanic
• Engineman

The courses are self-paced and prepare mariners for their examinations at a US Coast Guard Regional Examination Center (REC). Prior approval by the US Coast Guard of a mariner’s application for the specific rating is recommended prior to commencing the course.
