This is a comprehensive 1-week training program
designed to teach new skills to the entry-level mariner or to
enhance skills of those mariners who have minimal sea-going
experience. This course serves to increase awareness and promote
safety in your surroundings.

- Company expectations
- Crew integration, Career paths, Advancement
opportunities, Personal evaluations
- Chain of command, Shipboard life, Sea/shore rotation,
Shipboard customs & courtesies
- Shipboard sanitation, Personal Hygiene, Work duties,
Watchstanding
- Responsibilities
- Complete 8-hour USCG approved/STCW IMO compliant First Aid
& CPR course
- Vessel terminology including setting watertight integrity
- Shipboard emergencies
- Shipboard fire prevention and firefighting including hands
on practice with portable fire extinguishers
- Marlinespike seamanship including practical line handling
- Deck maintenance including hand tool usage, safety and
surface preparation and painting
