This course combines each of the elements of the individual
courses listed above used to make up this training program.
Mariners enrolling in this course are able to schedule their
time to attend all of the required training during their
“inport” time usually while continuing to work aboard their
vessels.
The benefit of successfully completing all of the
training is that a mariner, if qualified as far as sea service
and eligibility requirements are concerned, obtains the
following licenses: Master, up to 100 GRT; Master or Mate up to
200 GRT; and, Apprentice Mate (Steersman) of Towing Vessels.
These licenses enable the mariner to work onboard other than
towing vessels in a licensed capacity.
