Summary:

This course provides classroom training in basic assistance towing techniques, terminology, and safety to the meet training requirements for issuance of a Commercial Assistance Towing Endorsement to a US Coast Guard License.

Prerequisites:

This course is principally intended for candidates seeking the Assistance Towing Endorsement on their US Coast Guard issued license / MMC. This course may also be of value to others operating vessels on the water who may not be seeking U.S. Coast Guard endorsement. Students must also be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

Course Details:

This courseprovides training to mariners seeking an endorsement authorizing them to engagein assistance towing  and will satisfythe examination requirements of 46 CFR 11.482 (b) for an Assistance Towingendorsement to any MMC or license up to Master, Not More Than 200 Gross tons.

Examination:

The student will be administered a 10 question multiple-choice examination with a minimum score of 70% required.
